What I Learned Completing 350 Courses On LinkedIn Learning

Embarking on a journey of continuous learning is a powerful way to expand your knowledge and enhance your professional growth. One way I’ve tried to expand my knowledge is through LinkedIn’s educational website LinkedIn Learning. In today’s fast paced and demanding work we need to seek out ways to enhance our knowledge whether through books, attending an in-person seminar, Coursera, Edx, and LinkedIn Learning to name a few ways. A few months ago, I reached the milestone of completing 250 courses on LinkedIn Learning. Since then, I’ll buckled down and completed another 100 courses. After completing 350 courses on the site, I realized I’ve gained valuable insights in various domains such as: leadership, strategy, accounting, tax, finance, teamwork, and communication. In this post, I will share some of the key lessons I’ve learned from my LinkedIn Learning journey in these areas, and how they have positively influenced my personal and professional development.

  1. Leadership: Through LinkedIn Learning, I delved into various leadership courses that helped me understand the multifaceted nature of effective leadership. I learned that leadership is not merely about authority, but about inspiring and empowering others to reach their full potential. Building strong relationships, fostering a culture of trust, and embracing empathy were key takeaways that reshaped my approach to leadership. What’s great about this topic is you learn from the course material, then you can apply it and see it in real time in your own career.
  2. Strategy: Strategic thinking and planning are crucial for achieving long-term success. The courses on strategy equipped me with frameworks to analyze complex business situations, make informed decisions, and develop coherent plans. Understanding the importance of setting clear goals, conducting thorough research, and adapting strategies to changing circumstances has enhanced my ability to drive impactful outcomes. Often, strategy can feel like a daunting term, but it’s really a matter of thinking and planning for long term success in your career or business.
  3. Accounting and Finance: Gaining a solid foundation in accounting and finance through LinkedIn Learning has been instrumental in my professional journey. Courses on financial statements, budgeting, and financial analysis have empowered me to interpret financial data, make informed financial decisions, and contribute to the financial health of organizations. This knowledge has proven invaluable in strategic planning and resource allocation. Plus, understanding the language of business, ie accounting, is one of the best investments you can make in your own career no matter what your job title is or what you do for a living. I highly recommend finding courses by business professors and brothers Jim and Earl Stice – they explain the basics in an easy-to-understand method.
  4. Taxation: Tax laws and regulations can be complex, but LinkedIn Learning provided me with multiple comprehensive courses that demystified the world of taxation. Understanding tax compliance, planning, and optimization strategies has given me extra confidence to navigate this complex domain. By staying informed on tax-related matters, I can contribute to efficient financial management and ensure compliance within organizations.   5. Teamwork: Effective teamwork lies at the heart of successful organizations. LinkedIn Learning’s courses on teamwork emphasized the importance of collaboration, communication, and building cohesive teams. I gained insights into conflict resolution, fostering a positive team culture, and leveraging diverse perspectives. These skills have helped me establish strong working relationships and drive collective achievements.
  6. Communication: Clear and persuasive communication is a vital skill in all aspects of life. LinkedIn Learning provided courses that enhanced my verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills. I learned to tailor my communication style to different audiences, listen actively, and convey ideas effectively. These skills have enabled me to articulate my thoughts with clarity and influence others positively.

Completing 350 courses on LinkedIn Learning has been a transformative journey, enriching my knowledge and skills in leadership, strategy, accounting, tax, finance, teamwork, and communication. The insights gained through these courses have shaped my approach to work and expanded my professional horizons.
