Dare to Lead
Dare to Lead by Brené Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In my review of “Dare to Lead” by Brene Brown, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the book offers valuable insights and practical advice on developing courage, vulnerability, and empathy as a leader. Brown’s research-based approach and personal stories are engaging and relatable.

However, I found the book somewhat repetitive and overly focused on self-help. Brown often relies on the same examples and concepts to illustrate her points, making the book feel formulaic and predictable. Furthermore, I was disappointed by the lack of specific examples of how Brown has applied her own research to her leadership roles.

Overall, I would recommend “Dare to Lead” to those seeking to enhance their leadership skills and create a more inclusive and courageous workplace culture. However, readers who are familiar with Brown’s previous works or looking for a more in-depth analysis of leadership practices may find the book repetitive and self-help oriented.

Memorable quotes from the book:
“At the end of the day, at the end of the week, at the end of my life, I want to say I contributed more than I criticized.”

“We fail the minute we let someone else define success for us.”
